Who is Travel Republic?

Online travel agent Travel Republic has provided fly-and-flop holidays for more than 20 years. You can book flights and hotels, or both, to create a package holiday, as well as booking transfers, airport parking and experiences. It’s owned by Dnata World Travel, part of the Emirates group based in Dubai.

Which? verdict

Travel Republic is a mid-table level holiday company and one of the poorest performers for family holidays, let down by its accommodation and organisation ratings. There are plenty of providers that received better scores in our survey.

What's Travel Republic like?

At £106pp per night on average, Travel Republic is one of the cheapest short-haul holiday companies, but customers didn’t think they got good value for money. It was rated just two stars for beach/resort holidays and family holidays, with one customer telling us they felt their holiday was ‘overpriced’.

In fact. it didn’t receive a single rating above three stars. The company’s main shortcomings are in its family holiday offerings, where it finished second from bottom in the table, with poor two-star ratings in all but one category, including accommodation and organisation.

Many customers were dissatisfied with their accommodation, with some reporting ‘unpleasant’ hotels. One said that they ‘did not enjoy the resort’ as they felt it was ‘built for mass crowds’.

Holiday organisation left a lot to be desiredas well, with one reader telling us: ‘They changed our resort but only told us when we arrived at the hotel.’

Should I book with Travel Republic?

Despite Travel Republic’s affordable range of getaways, poor ratings in accommodation and an especially low ranking in our family holidays table suggest you should look elsewhere.

There are several higher-scoring providers, including Which? Recommended Provider Jet2holidays, which costs just a little more on average.
