Which? verdict

BA Holidays is a fairly well-rated tour operator and a good choice for all-inclusive and solo holidays. However, there are better holiday companies with cheaper prices, especially if you’re looking for a beach/resort holiday.

What’s British Airways Holidays like?

The problem with BA Holidays is that it relies on an airline that comes near to the bottom of both our tables for the best short-haul and long-haul airlines, and has a higher than average last-minute cancellation rate.

When we asked why some holidaymakers didn’t feel satisfied with their package holiday, several referenced problems with the airline such as delays or flight attendants that were ‘not very friendly’.

It didn’t perform well in the tailor-made holiday category, ranking 12th out 23 providers. However, it did score well for the description of its holidays matching reality, with four out of five stars in four different categories (beach/resort holidays, city breaks, all-inclusive holidays, family holidays). One customer said their experience was ‘fun’ with ‘diverse activities’ and ‘all as advertised’.

And, as an all-inclusive and solo holiday provider, British Airways Holidays is much closer to the top of the table, ranking 5th and 3rd highest respectively. But there are cheaper and better-rated options in both categories.

Should I book with British Airways Holidays?

Only if you find a good deal. British Airways Holidays provides good all-inclusive and solo holidays that will usually meet your expectations. Just be aware that the airline has been plagued by last-minute cancellations, according to data from the Civil Aviation Authority – and that could ruin your getaway. For beach/resort holidays and tailor-made holidays there are better, and cheaper, alternatives like Jet2Holidays.
