Since being founded 75 years ago as a provider of affordable holidays for older people, Saga has branched into providing various financial products aimed at the over-50s.
It offers three tiers of travel insurance cover: Essential (lowest), Standard and Plus (highest). However, with Plus and Standard, you'll get different levels of cover again, depending on whether you've bought annual or single-trip insurance.
Saga's policies are underwritten by Astrenska Insurance Limited.

I've been analysing Saga's extensive range of policies for a decade.

Saga is a specialist provider for covering customers with pre-existing medical conditions. This means it may be more likely to cover customers with conditions that other insurers would be less likely to take on.
However, if you have a medical condition, you should still look at a mixture of specialist and non-specialist providers
To add your conditions to the policy, you'll need to declare them when you take it out. Saga works with a medical screening company called Verisk to ask customers about their medical conditions.
However, if you're struggling to get cover, see our guide on travel insurance if you have a medical condition.
Saga uses a company called Collinson Insurance Services to handle claims.
