Is Three mobile any good?

  • 'Does not include EU and international roaming. That's why I am thinking of leaving. I travel a lot and can't afford the extra daily charge.'
  • 'They should reduce the price of data packages. There are competitors offering significantly lower prices but with just as good, if not better, reception and connection.'

Does Three increase its prices each year?

Yes. Customers who joined or upgraded on or after 8 September 2024 face fixed mid-contract price increases every April, outlined in pounds and pence at the start of the contract:

Data allowancePrice increase
Up to 4GB£1.00
5GB to 99GB£1.25
Greater than 100GB£1.50
Smartwatch pairing plans£1.00

To find out how to avoid costly price increases, read our guide to 10 ways to save money on your mobile phone bill.

Does Three mobile include free data roaming?

It depends which type of contract you have:

  • Lite plans do not include roaming. To use your data in the EU you must buy a Go Roam pass for £2 a day. If you are going further away, Around the World and Around the World Extra cost £5 and £7 a day respectively.
  • Value plans include Go Roam Europe, which allows free roaming in 49 countries.
  • Complete plans include Go Roam Europe, Around The World and Around The World Extra, making roaming free in 160 countries.

All plans have a roaming fair usage limit of 12GB.

However, always check to see if the country you’re travelling to is covered before you leave. Some countries you might expect to be included may not be. Use the Three roaming rate finder to see how much roaming might cost.

It may be cheaper to buy a travel eSim for your trip, rather than relying on data add-ons or PAYG. Find out how to do this and what’s available in our guide to the best cheap eSims for mobile roaming abroad.
