What network does Sky Mobile use?

Sky Mobile is a virtual provider, which means it uses another provider's infrastructure – in this case, the O2 network. It offers 4G and 5G coverage.

How good is Sky Mobile coverage?

Does Sky Mobile increase its prices each year?

Sky Mobile rolling 30-day Sim-only contracts aren't hit by costly price increases. Before the end of the month, you will be able to check what the price to renew is. If it does increase or is too expensive, you can switch to a different network with no penalty.

For longer contracts, Sky Mobile doesn't use regular annual price rises, but has retained a 'price may vary clause.' This means if it wants to increase prices, customers still in the original term have the option to switch to another provider without penalty.

In 2026, Sky used this clause for the first time in seven years. On 14 February, the majority of Sky Mobile customers saw their bill increase by £1.50 a month. 

Out-of-contract customers will face a £1.50 annual price increase.

Does Sky Mobile include free data roaming?

No, to use your data abroad you must pay £2 a day for a Roaming Passport Plus pass. This will let you use your data, up to 25GB, in 75 countries. 

However, always check to see if the country you’re travelling to is covered before you leave. Some countries you might expect to be included may not be. Use the Sky Mobile roaming rate finder to see how much roaming might cost.
