Which? verdict

Holiday Autos is cheap, but may not be that cheerful. It received mediocre scores for customer service and additional charges – some customers complained about extra, unexpected charges.

Overall score is a combination of the customer score (overall satisfaction and how likely people are to recommend the company) and our own expert analysis. Survey carried out in Feb/March 2026.

What’s Holiday Autos like?

With a good 78% customer score and some of the lowest average prices in our survey, Holiday Autos seems like a tempting option.

However, we’re concerned about the average three-star rating (out of five) for additional charges, customer service and the clarity of the rental conditions.

One customer told us there were ‘lots of hidden charges’, while another told us they received ‘no information about where to pick up the car’.

Holiday Autos is transparent about the fact that ‘commission received affects the recommended order’ in which it displays your options, meaning the best price or rating is not prioritised when you are booking.

We were also concerned about the £25 charge levied for ‘Premium customer support’. The better brokers give all of their customers a premium customer service experience.

Should I book with Holiday Autos?

No. Holiday Autos’ lack of clarity and mediocre customer service mean there are better options – such as Which? Recommended Provider Zest Car Rental.
