This week, we've tested anti-snoring devices to find out which ones help make for quieter nights. Our panel of 12 volunteer testers, who all snore regularly, tried a range of nasal strips and sprays while recording their sleep so we could see what genuinely makes a difference.
One nasal strip stood out as a Which? Best Buy, topping our results table and proving easy to use. Meanwhile, a double-strength spray failed to show any real benefit in our tests – and left some testers complaining about the taste and sensation.

Date tested: May to July 2025. We are not able to show every retailer, and cheaper prices may be available. We like: Reduced snoring in our trials, didn’t disrupt sleep, fairly easy to apply
Watch out for: Single-use, unlikely to completely stop snoring
If you’re looking for a straightforward way to tackle snoring, these nasal strips (available in a pack of 30) are a strong place to start.
In our tests, they reduced snoring for many of our panel and did so without disrupting sleep, which isn’t always the case with anti-snoring products. Testers also found them comfortable enough to wear through the night, and they stayed in place well once applied.
These strips work by gently opening up your nasal passages, helping you breathe more easily and reducing the vibrations that cause snoring.
That said, they’re not a miracle fix. We found the reduction in snoring wasn’t dramatic, and you’ll need to use a new strip each night to maintain the effect. But as a no-fuss option that actually makes a difference, they’re an easy recommendation from our experts.
We like: Didn’t disrupt sleep much, fairly easy to apply
Watch out for: No statistically significant reduction in snoring in our trials, and some testers found the taste and feeling unpleasant
Rhynil’s spray promises a simple solution for ‘a much better night’s sleep’ – just a quick spray before bed – but our tests suggest it’s not worth your money.
While this nasal spray was easy to apply and didn’t interfere with sleep, we didn’t find any meaningful reduction in snoring when using it. This puts it firmly behind other options, including much cheaper alternatives.
Testers weren’t convinced, either – several found the taste and sensation far from pleasant, with one volunteer explaining: ‘I didn't enjoy squirting vanilla juice directly up my nose'.
‘In our tests, we compared snoring levels with and without each product to see the real impact, and worked with Professor Paul Chatrath, a consultant rhinologist and ENT surgeon, to ensure our testing was robust and safe.
‘But reducing snoring isn’t the whole story. We also assessed how comfortable each product was to use overnight, and whether it stayed in place and was easy to apply.
'If you’d rather not shop around, we recommend starting with Breathe Right nasal strips. To see the full results of our testing, explore our guide to the best anti-snoring devices’.
