Yvette FletcherPrincipal researcher & writer

You're likely to think of EE as a mobile phone provider, but it also offers TV services bundled with broadband. EE's prices are often appealing – especially when you factor in the generous introductory offers – and you get Apple TV+ free for six months. But are customers happy with the service they receive? Our latest customer rating reveals how they rated their EE TV and broadband service.

Each year, we survey thousands of UK TV and broadband customers to check how they rate each big provider's speed, reliability, TV content, customer service and value for money. Read on for our review or use the free broadband comparison service from Which? to find the best EE TV and broadband deal for you.

What TV and broadband deals does EE offer?

In late 2023, EE changed its TV service, replicating what was previously offered by its parent company BT and renaming this EE TV. EE TV allows you to add different combinations of channels each month, based around Now TV services.

On top of this, you can choose between five packages – Entertainment, Big Entertainment, Sport, Big Sport and Full Works (formerly called VIP). All include Freeview, plus a combination of premium channels. While EE’s standard TV and broadband contracts last 24 months, you can change which package you have every 30 days until the last three months of your contract.

As the name suggests, Entertainment and Big Entertainment are focused on premium entertainment and include channels such as Gold, Sky Atlantic and Syfy. In addition, Big Entertainment includes the Sky Cinema channels, plus films on-demand.

Meanwhile, Sport includes all four TNT Sports channels, including 52 Premier League matches and all of the UEFA Champions League series. Big Sport has the same, plus 12 Sky Sports channels.

And if you fancy all of the above, you can opt for Full Works – a combination of the Big Sport and Big Entertainment packages. It’s also possible to opt for more than one package, so you can choose to combine Entertainment and Sport separately if you prefer.

In terms of broadband service, EE only offers its TV service to customers with at least a superfast fibre connection – average speeds on offer are between 35Mbps and 66Mbps, depending on the package you take.

But around two thirds of UK properties can also access faster connections, with average speeds of 149Mbps, 308Mbps, 500Mbps, 900Mbps or 1600Mbps (1.6Gbps), depending on the package.

Does EE put up TV and broadband prices every year?

Yes. If you do decide to take up a broadband contract with EE, keep in mind that it will raise the price of your deal at the end of March each year.

In April 2024, EE introduced a fixed price increase. Now if you take out a broadband deal with EE, it will increase the amount you pay by £3 per month every spring. The price for TV plans will increase by £2 per month, so if you take both broadband and TV, your price will increase by £5 per month in total.

If you took out a deal with EE before April, your contract will include a price increase that is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation as published in January with an additional 3.9% added in. This meant many customers saw their price increase by 6.4% this year.

What equipment comes with EE TV and broadband?

You get to choose your TV box. One option is an Apple TV box which offers content via apps – it gives you access to BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and YouTube, for example, plus paid-for services such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix (although, you’ll need additional subscriptions for these). EE offers free access to Apple TV+ for the first six months.

EE also offers two of its own TV boxes – TV Box Mini, which allows you to pause and rewind TV in up to 4K quality. If you want to be able to record stuff to watch later, you'll need to go for the TV Box Pro, which can record up to 600 hours of TV. Both boxes will also give you access to On Demand services and catch-up TV.
