Best fan heaters

Find out the top fan heaters from our tests, including heaters from Dyson, Dimplex, DeLonghi and more

The best fan heaters are light, portable and easy to use. They do a quick job of directing plenty of warmth around a room in your home, getting you up to a comfortable temperature in half an hour or less.

We've tested more than 40 electric heaters over several years, including models from Dyson and Dimplex and from top UK retailers such as Argos, Screwfix and more.

Our tests found that some are much better than others. The worst fan heater we've tested warmed up our test room by less than half as much as the best.

Why you can trust us to reveal the very best fan heaters: Which? is a not for profit organisation and has been testing products and calling out rogue businesses for almost 70 years.

In an increasingly chaotic world, filled with so-called 'experts, it's good to know that brands still can't buy their way onto our testing or influence what we write. We buy every product we test and we'll tell you the worst as well as the best fan heaters.

Dates tested: August 2024, December 2023, August 2023, November 2022. Pricing and availability last checked May 2025. We aren't able to show every retailer and cheaper prices may be available.

Cost per hour is based on using the heater on its highest setting as, following our testing, we think this is the setting you're more likely to use. Calculated using the unit price under the current energy price cap (24.86p/kwh).

Heating performance based on how quickly the heater raised the temperature of the room in half an hour, and how evenly it heated the room.
