Best iPad and tablet deals for May 2025

We check top retailers to find the best deals on tablets and iPads. We only include offers on tablets that do well in our lab tests, so if a tablet doesn't meet a decent standard, you won't find it on this list, even if it's been heavily reduced.

* References to ‘Average price' and 'Cheapest price' are based on Which? market knowledge and information supplied by our partners. The price is checked for the six calendar months prior to publication. Not all retailers are included in our checks.

Our pick: Apple 11-inch iPad (2025)

*Average price in the past six months: £326. Cheapest price in the past six months: £309

Apple 11-inch iPad (2025)
  • 10.9-inch screen
  • A16 Bionic processor and 6GB of Ram
  • 1,640 x 2,360 resolution screen

We like: Cheapest iPad since the 2022 launch

We didn't like: Camera quality can vary

The latest iPad (2025) is sure to tempt Apple fans, launching at almost half the price of an iPad Air and £170 less than the iPad Mini. It's brand-new so any discounts aren't going to knock your socks off, but John Lewis has the best deal (£310) we've found if you're happy to buy it in silver. Plus, a lot of retailers offer extras with iPads, such as free Apple Music for three months.

This model has a 10.9-inch screen with 2,360 x 1,640-pixel resolution. It runs on the A16 Bionic chip with 6GB of Ram, which is the same processor found in the iPhone 15. The version we tested has 128GB of memory (which is double the base model of the 2022 version), or you can choose to have 256GB (from £429) or 512GB (from £629). You can buy a version with 5G for £479 if you're happy to pay extra.

Is this ‘cheap’ iPad worth the hype or has it cut too many corners for our recommendation? Find out in our Apple 11-inch iPad (2025) review.

Best iPad deals

It's rare to see a current iPad with a discount, but we managed to find some great deals.

Apple iPad Mini (2024)

*Average price in the past six months: £489. Cheapest price in the past six months: £449

Apple iPad Mini (2024)
  • 8.3-inch screen
  • A17 Pro processor and 8GB of Ram
  • 2,266 x 1,488-pixels display

We like: Portable and lightweight

We don’t like: The screen will be too small for some

Apple kept us waiting for a new iPad Mini for a while (from 2021 to be exact), and it finally arrived in late 2024 with an upgraded A17 Pro chipset and 8GB of Ram, ready for the latest Apple Intelligence features powered by onboard AI.

It's the smallest Apple iPad with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 2,266 x 1,488 pixel-resolution. Although it hasn't had a huge discount, it's still less than the RRP of £499.

See what we thought of the newest iteration of this device in our Apple iPad Mini (2024) review.

Apple iPad Pro 13-inch 7th generation (2024)

*Average price in the past six months: £1,261. Cheapest price in the past six months: £1,149

Apple iPad Pro 13-inch 7th generation (2024)
  • 13-inch screen
  • M4 processor and 8GB of Ram
  • 2,064 x 2,752-pixels display

We like: Bassy and powerful sound

We don’t like: Can’t have more than one user profile

The seventh generation iPad Pro is Apple's most powerful iPad yet. It has a list of features as long as your arm and some surprisingly original tech – such as the display, which is actually two OLED screens on top of each other – as well as the colossally powerful M4 processor.

Although not a huge discount, you can still find it cheaper at a few online retailers rather than directly from Apple.

Our in-depth Apple iPad Pro 13-inch 7th generation (2024) review will help you decide whether this iPad is a wise investment.

Apple iPad Pro 11-inch 7th generation (2024)

*Average price in the past six months: £985. Cheapest price in the past six months: £899

  • 11.1-inch screen
  • M14 processor and 8GB of Ram
  • 1,668 x 2,420 pixel display

We like: Fast with great battery life

We don’t like: Can't have more than one user profile

This is the seventh-generation 11-inch iPad Pro from Apple. It has dual-OLED displays (one on top of the other for extra brightness) and an M4 processor. It charges with a USB-C cable, and there's one in the box. However, you don't get a plug.

If you opt for a 256GB or 512GB, you'll get 8GB of Ram and a nine-core processor. The 1TB and 2TB options have 16GB of Ram and a 10-core processor. We reviewed the 256GB model.

Best Samsung Galaxy tab deals

Samsung is the most popular Android tablet manufacturer. It makes tablets that can compete with high-end iPads, but also has cheaper options if you don't need anything too powerful.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 64GB

*Average price in the past six months: £138. Cheapest price in the past six months: £99

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9
  • 8.7-inch screen
  • USB-C charging
  • Runs the Android operating system

We like: Intuitive operating system

We don't like: Muffled speakers in our tests

This entry-level tablet with a small screen is currently on sale for the lowest price we've seen in the past six months. The screen has a resolution that's less than Full HD, but the eight-core processor has specifications that are impressive for this tablet's price.

If you're not sure if 64GB of storage is enough, you can expand it later with a micro SD card.

Find out how it did in our independent lab tests in our Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 review.

Also consider: the Galaxy Tab A9+ is also on offer for those who would prefer a bigger tablet. Read our Galaxy Tab A9+ review, or check prices below.

Best Android tablet deals

Google's tablet runs on the Android operating system, as do many Chinese brands' tablets. Honor, Lenovo and Xiaomi are all popular, offering several high-spec tablets for less than you might expect.

Honor Pad X9

*Average price in the past six months: £147. Cheapest price in the past six months: £120

Honor Pad X9
  • 11.4-inch screen
  • 4GB of Ram
  • 128GB of storage

We like: Simple to use

We didn't like: Dull screen, based on our tests

This 11.4-inch tablet has a sizeable screen that's about the same size as an iPad, and its 1,200 x 2,000 resolution means it’s a touch sharper than HD. An eight-core Snapdragon 635 processor powers the tablet, along with 4GB of Ram.

The model we tested has 128GB of storage, which drops to 111GB once you factor in the operating system and pre-installed apps. There’s no micro-SD card to increase storage.

Read our Honor Pad X9 review to see if it's worth your money.

Lenovo Tab M11

*Average price in the past six months: £163. Cheapest price in the past six months: £129

Lenovo Tab M11 tablet
  • 11-inch screen
  • 4GB of Ram
  • 128GB of storage

We like: Brilliant battery life

We didn't like: Struggles with demanding apps

After Apple and Samsung, Lenovo is one of the biggest tablet brands around. Its releases high-end models designed to challenge iPad Pros, as well as cheaper tablets like this Tab M11 that’s priced around the same as a top-range Samsung or an Amazon Fire tablet.

The M11 instead has a 128GB hard drive, Full HD screen and a Helio G88 processor, which is backed up by 4GB of Ram. This tablet charges via a USB-C cable, which is supplied. You don’t get a plug, but Lenovo does include a stylus in the box.

Read our Lenovo Tab M11 review to see if it's worth buying. Compare prices at retailers below.

Lenovo Tab Plus

*Average price in the past six months: £251. Cheapest price in the past six months: £149

  • 11.5-inch screen
  • MediaTek Helio G99 processor with 8GB of Ram
  • 128GB of storage

We like: Quick to charge

We didn't like: Inferior speaker quality in our tests

This mid-range Lenovo tablet has a built-in kickstand that makes it bulkier than other tablets, but it comes in handy if you want to keep it upright.

The display isn't as premium as more expensive devices, with a 1,200 x 2,000 resolution. However, it's not often you find a tablet with an 11.5-inch display at this price - and it's currently available for the cheapest price we've seen.

Find out if it ticks the boxes that matter to you in our Lenovo Tab Plus review.

Google Pixel Tablet

*Average price in the past six months: £444. Cheapest price in the past six months: £399

  • 10.9-inch screen
  • Eight-core Tensor G2 processor, with 8GB of Ram
  • 256GB storage

We like: Lengthy battery life

We didn't like: Lacklustre cameras in our tests

This latest Pixel Tablet from 2023 comes with a snazzy speaker dock, which takes its recommended retail price above iPads with comparable screen resolution and processor power. The Pixel's powered by an eight-core Tensor G2 processor, which clocks in at 2.85GHz, plus 8GB of Ram.

The model we tested has 128GB of storage, but the discount we've found is on the 256GB version. That should be enough for most users, although it's worth noting that you can't add extra storage with a micro-SD card.

You can currently buy the 256GB version of the Google Pixel Tablet together with the Charging Speaker Dock for a discounted price of £399 from John Lewis and Amazon. Compare other prices below.

How to spot a good deal on an iPad or tablet

Amy Axworthy

Amy Axworthy, Which? tablets expert, says:

  • iPads are rarely on offer, so any discount you spot is likely to be a good one. To double-check, the Apple store will show the iPad at the standard retail price so you can see if the deal is worthwhile.
  • Look out for 'deals' that actually add a load of extra stuff you may not need, such as app subscriptions, styluses and cases. Odds are, if it's a 'starter pack offer' aiming to keep the price as close to the RRP as possible, another retailer will have it with a true discount and without all those unnecessary extras.
  • Don't worry about buying an older tablet. Models released in 2022 or 2023 are still worth a look, but check our tablet software update policy page to make sure you'll still get plenty of updates in years to come.

Where’s the best place to buy a tablet?

We've selected good deals on decent tablets that are currently on offer. If none of these are right for you, don't worry – there will be ample opportunity to find a great tablet deal.

Finding an iPad deal

The Apple website provides a good baseline of how much an iPad costs because Apple never discounts new models there. Knowing the true full price will make it easier to work out if you're getting a decent discount on other sites. Click to go to the Apple iPad website.

When shopping around for deals and looking at sale prices, be aware that there are multiple generations of iPads on sale at the same time, so make sure you know which one you're buying. Our best iPads guide will help you out.

There’s nothing wrong with buying an older-generation iPad – it’s a great way to save money. But make sure you’re comparing like with like, rather than a newer, more expensive model with an older, cheaper one.

Refurbished models

Another way to keep costs down is to consider a refurbished tablet. Apple never has deals on new tablets, but there's a section on its official site for refurbished iPads that come with a one-year warranty. What’s available varies from one model to the next, but you should be able to save at least 20% on a refurbished tablet over a new one.

Find out more about how to save money and what to watch out for when buying a refurbished iPad.

Student tablet deals

If you’re a student, you might qualify for an Apple student discount, which will get you money off iPads and other Apple products.

Finding a Microsoft Surface tablet deal

It’s sensible to start your search for a Surface tablet on the Microsoft Store website

This is the place to find the true price of the model and specification you’re after – and you may even find a discount while you’re there. It might be a simple discount on a specification, or it could be a discounted or free accessory when you buy a tablet at the full price.

If that doesn't work, it’s highly likely you’ll find a discount from various retailers. Make sure you check all the specifications and colour options, as discounts might only be on one or two of these at any one time.

Finding an Amazon Fire tablet deal

Amazon Fire tablets are competitively priced to start with, but deals do come along fairly regularly. You'll often find the best prices on the Amazon Fire site, and you can sometimes find decent discounts at Argos and Currys, among others.

If there's nothing available on the day you search, you probably won't have to wait long for a discount to materialise. So, if you don’t need to buy now, it could pay to wait until a deal comes up.

Tablets and security support

Before you buy, bear in mind that not all manufacturers are equal when it comes to security updates. We've found that some only support their tablets for two to three years.

Our free, quick tablet security tool allows you to check how long a tablet will continue to receive security updates. It also provides important advice on how to stay safe when using your tablet.
