The GTD is the diesel 'hot' hatchback model in Volkswagen's eighth-generation VW Golf range, launched in 2020 and available new until 2024. It joined a high-performance line-up that also included the petrol-powered GTI and the hybrid GTE. With 200hp of power, it promises plenty of pep but also frugal fuel consumption. Can it pull off this delicate balancing act? Find out in our full Volkswagen Golf GTD review.
