Aldi vs Lidl nappies: how do they compare?
Aldi and Lidl both sell low-cost supermarket nappies for families looking to keep their little ones dry at a reasonable price.
Included in Aldi's Mamia and Lidl's Lupilu range, these own-brand nappies are sold at almost identical prices, and both brands claim their products will keep your baby dry for 12 hours.
Aldi and Lidl also fill their shelves with almost matching nappy sizes but, despite the similarities, one of the brands does much better than the other in our tests.

What do Aldi and Lidl nappies offer?
Aldi Mamia Ultra-Fit Nappies
Aldi says its nappies have an ultra-dry air system with a fast-absorbing core to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours. The nappies don’t contain any perfume, lotion or latex and are designed to be soft and breathable with a slim fit for free movement. Aldi's nappies are available in sizes one to six, and there are also plus sizes for extra absorbency.
Lidl Lupilu Nappies
Lidl claims its Lupilu nappies have magical air tubes with absorbent channels in the core to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours (eight hours for the newborn range). They have soft fleece and an elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit. Its nappy range covers sizes one through to six, with three additional plus sizes.
Lidl also sells a premium range which the discount supermarket claims offers advanced comfort, fit and flexibility. These nappies come in sizes one to five.

How do Aldi and Lidl nappies compare in our lab tests?
One of the budget supermarket's nappies scored an impressive 82% in our lab tests.
Its nappies got the full five stars in our absorbency tests, and hold wetness inside very well.
However, the other scored just 60%. Its nappies are good at absorbing liquid but poor at protecting against leakage and holding wetness inside.
