The Sealy Posturepedic Elevate Blake Medium is a plush, medium tension mattress that Sealy describes as ‘a real crowdpleaser’. It uses Sealy’s ‘AlignSupport’ system of open coil springs, which are joined together into a single grid that compresses to support and spread your weight evenly. This is an older style of spring that has a reputation for being a bit less responsive than modern pocket springs. Does it provide good support for every size and shape of sleeper? To find out, our test lab probed it, pummelled it, measured it, tried to incinerate it and deconstructed it.
