Emma vs Simba vs Eve: what do our experts say?
Lisa Galliers, Which? mattress expert, says:

Emma has cheaper prices on average than the other two brands, based on the mattresses we've tested.- Eve offers the uniqueness of the Wunderflip range: you can customise your mattress firmness by simply turning it over to change from a soft to hard tension.
- Simba offers the most choice. It has five core hybrid mattresses, ranging from the entry level Essential to the top-of-the-range Ultra, plus three options in its latest Earth range. Beware if you're a light sleeper, though: in our tests, Simba's mattresses are the bounciest of the three brands.
Our reviews allow you to see individual mattress test results from different brands side by side, so you can easily compare them on body support, breathability, durability and more.

Emma mattress range

Emma's direct-to-consumer range of mattresses is forever changing; you can currently buy the Emma NextGen Cooling and the Emma NextGen Premium online, however they've recently had a name revamp. The Original has been discontinued, but you may still spot it on sale from time to time. Over Christmas 2024, we spotted it in Lidl.
There’s also the Emma Smart Hybrid, the brand's first mattress that’s available to buy in the shops, rather than online-only.

Get startedVarious high street retailers such as Land of Beds and John Lewis stock the Emma Diamond Hybrid and the Emma Helix Hybrid. Note that the Emma Hybrid is no longer sold by Emma direct, but you might also find it for sale through other retailers.
Most mattresses are available in two different versions, usually with a slight difference in price, but there's a wider choice of covers to choose from when you buy from Emma direct.

Simba mattress range

Simba's range of hybrid mattresses seems to have expanded over the past few years. There are plenty of mattresses to choose from and it can be hard to keep up with the different versions of its ranges and the names.
It's core range cover five mattresses, from the entry-level Simba Essentials Hybrid range up to the Simba Hybrid Ultra. The different mattress have different layers and the constructions are completely different to each other.
The latest mattresses from Simba are part of it's Earth range – the Earth Source, Earth Escape and the Earth Apex. Leading away from the hybrid mattresses we've come to expect from Simba, its Earth range features large pocket sprung cores topped with more natural materials such as wool. The top-of-the-range Earth Apex mattress also contains Cashgora and Silk.

Eve mattress range

Eve Sleep was acquired by Bensons for Beds in 2021, and has since completely replaced all its mattresses with the Wunderflip range. Many of the previous mattresses were Best Buys, including the Eve Premium, which was our top-scoring mattress for a long time.
We’ve tested all six mattresses in Eve's new Wunderflip range, listed here starting from the entry-level option to the top-of-the-range Ultimate: Wunderflip Memory Foam, Wunderflip Premium Memory Foam, Wunderflip Lighter Hybrid, Wunderflip Hybrid, Wunderflip Premium Hybrid Sleep and the Wunderflip Ultimate Hybrid Sleep.
An interesting feature of the Wunderflip mattresses is the flippable mattress core – one side is firm and one side is soft – so it's essentially two mattresses in one. You can swap between each side easily by detaching the zipped mattress topper, flipping over the mattress, then reattaching the topper to the other side. The soft and firm sides are clearly labelled, so there's no confusion.
The new Ultimate Hybrid sleep mattress features latex – a first for Eve mattresses.

Emma mattress delivery delays
Emma customers have experienced customer service issues and delivery delays in the past, however Emma says these are now resolved. The brand provided us with the following statement in December 2024:
'Emma – The Sleep Company would like to apologise to customers who experienced longer-than-usual delivery times when ordering our sleep products, as well as those who are still facing delays. We are pleased to inform you that we are nearing the completion of our transition to a new and improved supply chain structure, along with a revamped customer support system.
'We acknowledge that some legacy issues from our previous structure, combined with constraints during this transition, may still be impacting certain customers. Please be assured that we are working tirelessly to prioritise these concerns. We believe that Emma is now in a stronger position to provide the level of service our customers deserve, and we sincerely thank you for your patience during this time.'
