Suntory Roku Gin

When we tested Asian gins this year we found some really exceptional gins that offered something a little different to London Dry gin, while still hitting the hallmarks of a classic, quality gin. Roku is a widely available option with a stylish bottle that would make a great gift for the gin-lover in your life.
We like: Can be ordered on Amazon Prime
We don’t like: Not the cheapest option
Suntory Roku Gin is a Japanese spirit that captures the essence of Japan's seasons with six carefully chosen botanicals, including cherry blossom, sencha tea and yuzu. These ingredients aim to provide floral and citrus flavours, making it perfect for gin enthusiasts who enjoy delicate and complex drinks.
It's a thoughtful gift for a gin fan, offering something slightly different from the norm and in an increasingly popular category that has produced some top-notch gins. It’s ideal for making a refreshing G&T, and we love adding a slice of ginger to highlight its herbal notes.

Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Crémant d’Alsace

We like: Perfect for celebrations
We don’t like: Only available from Sainsbury's
This sparkling wine offers a vibrant, fresh profile with crisp apple and orchard fruit flavours, complemented by brioche and lemon curd notes. Crafted from pinot blanc and pinot gris grapes using traditional methods, it’s aged for at least 12 months.
Crémant has a similar taste profile to champagne and undergoes a similar fermentation process. Our wine experts recommend it as a brilliant cheaper alternative to fancier fizz.
To find out how this Sainsbury’s Crémant scored in our taste tests, read our guide to the best prosecco and sparkling wines.
Available for £11.50 at Sainsbury’s.
Tesco Finest Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

A good extra virgin olive oil can really elevate a range of dishes, enhancing the flavour of everything from roast veg and salads to steak and beyond
We like: It’s cheaper than other bottles we've tested
We don’t like: Only available from Tesco
Tesco Finest Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made from early harvest olives that add a Mediterranean touch to various dishes. Sourced from a family-run mill in Sicily, the oil contains 33 servings in a 500ml bottle and is suitable for vegan diets.
The oil is meant for drizzling over salads or light cooking. It's a practical yet premium choice for food enthusiasts who appreciate high-quality ingredients.

Homemade limoncello in a recycled bottle

Limoncello is a super easy foodie gift to make and I was inspired to take up gifting it when my auntie gave me some for Christmas. It was such a lovely shot of summer brightness in the gloom of winter.
We like: Homemade, thoughtful gift
Watch out for: Requires extra effort
Limoncello is a great post-dinner tipple, combining fresh citrus with a burst of summer flavour that brightens up any season. It’s easy to make and offers a personal touch that store-bought options often lack. Numerous recipes are available online, including from BBC Good Food.
For an added eco-friendly touch, repurpose old wine or liqueur bottles, and adorn them with ribbon offcuts from sites like eBay or Vinted. Alternatively, explore Re-Found Objects for unique, recycled bottles if you don’t have any on hand. For an additional homemade treat, consider pairing the limoncello with homemade Baileys, which is also simple to prepare and great for the holiday season.
You can pick up the Italian Glass Pantheon Bottle directly from Re-foundobjects for £6.
Lindt Lindor Irish Cream Truffles

If you know somebody who likes a chocolate truffle, and is a fan of Irish cream, these are a great last-minute gift you can pick up at the supermarket. I've tried them (in the name of research, naturally...) and thought they were delicious, with a subtle taste of Irish cream that isn't too alcoholic.
We like: It's suitable for vegitarians
Watch out for: Contains alcohol and nuts
The Lindt Irish Cream Chocolate Truffles box (200g) contains 16 milk chocolate truffles with a creamy Irish Cream-flavoured filling.
Suitable for vegetarians, each truffle combines milk chocolate with a softer centre. It contains milk, barley, soya, and may contain hazelnuts and other nuts.
Also check out our champagne truffle taste tests.
You can pick this truffle box up directly from Lindt's website for £12.

Cuisinart Gelato and Ice Cream Maker

Ice cream is always a crowd pleaser and for ice cream that requires little prep, we'd recommend a self-freezing machine. You don't need to pre-freeze the bowl so you can have ready-to-serve ice cream in less than an hour. We used a simple base mixture of double cream, condensed milk and vanilla extract in our testing. You can add mix-ins such as chocolate chips or fruit in the last half of churning to experiment with different combos, too.
We like: No need to pre-freeze
We don’t like: Quite pricey as a gift option
For a scoop-tacular gift, consider an ice cream maker that can churn out 1.5 litres of ice cream or gelato in about 40 minutes. With its built-in compressor system, there’s no need to pre-freeze the bowl, and the machine is fully automatic so should feel easy to use.
It comes with sturdy mixing paddles and a keep-cool feature and lets you mix in extra ingredients as you go — allowing you to stir up your own flavour creations.

Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor pizza oven OO101UK

A pizza oven makes a seriously impressive addition to a summer party, allowing you to cook fresh, delicious pizzas in a matter of minutes. Look for ovens that are easy to use, heat up quickly and don't take too much effort to clean. We've covered all this in our testing on gas, electric, and wood-fired pizza ovens – and found Best Buys in all categories.
We like: Can cook lots of different things
We don’t like: 18kg, which may make it tricky to move around
The Ninja Woodfire Electric Outdoor Oven is a great gift for gourmands who want to mix up their at-home offering. Its high-heat roasting and compact design make it practical for smaller outdoor spaces.
It’s versatile enough to cook a full meal or just a quick pizza, thanks to multiple functions, and its woodfire technology claims to add smoky flavour with minimal effort.
Read our best pizza ovens page to find out whether the smoky flavours came through.
Swan Automatic Milk Frother

The best milk frothers quickly make voluminous froth that sticks around. The worst take ages to make a pathetic amount of foam. Most milk frothers are easy to operate, but the best milk frothers are easy to pour from and clean as well.
We like: Cheaper than many other models
We don’t like: Only froths individual servings at a time
Help a hot drink lover step up their coffee game with this milk frother, which whips up frothed milk in just over a minute.
Ideal for adding a touch of café-style luxury to home brews or even hot chocolates, it’s a great choice for those who love a little extra froth in their coffee routine.
To find out how this frother ranked amongst others, read our best milk frothers for coffee and hot chocolate.
Krups Expert Burr Grinder GVX231

A precise, even grind is essential for making tasty coffee at home. Choose a poor coffee grinder, and you may end up with uneven grounds and a badly extracted, watery brew. Our Best Buy coffee grinders produce even grounds - whether you're using an espresso maker or cafetiere.
We like: Has multiple grind settings
We don’t like: It might take up counter space
The Krups Expert Burr Grinder GVX231 makes a great gift for coffee enthusiasts who want control over their brew. With 17 grind settings, it offers a range of brewing styles, from espresso to French press.
You can make up to 12 cups of coffee from one grind. Both the upper burr and ground coffee container can be removed for cleaning.

Panasonic SD-B2510WXC Bread Maker

Bread makers are especially handy if you don't like the idea of kneading, folding and proving homemade bread yourself. As a bonus you'll regularly have the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through your home. The hardest thing is waiting for the bread to cool down enough before eating it!
We like: Has a wide range of programs
We don’t like: Bulky design, no viewing window
The Panasonic SD-B2510 Automatic Breadmaker is a thoughtful gift for foodies who enjoy experimenting with baking in the kitchen.
With 21 automatic programs, including gluten-free options and settings for dough, jam, and chutney, it offers plenty of creative potential. While it can’t make rye or sourdough bread, the machine is more affordable than other fancier models.

Microplane Grater

I was given a microplane as a Christmas gift and it's such a game-changer. It makes zesting citrus fruits for baking so much quicker and easier and is also perfect for a quick dash of parmesan on your pasta. I never would have thought to ask for it but I couldn't do without it now!
We like: Ergonomic handle
Watch out for: Might be a challenge to clean thoroughly
As all good cooks know, a sprinkle of citrus peel or a pinch of cheese can make a dish show-stopping.
The stainless steel blade of this grater is designed for zesting citrus, grating hard cheese and finely slicing ingredients like chocolate, ginger and nutmeg.
The ergonomic handle claims to provide a comfortable grip. Additionally, a plastic safety cover is included for storage.
H&S Salt and Pepper Grinder Mill Set

We like: The adjustable coarseness
We don’t like: Not dishwasher-safe
The H&S Salt and Pepper Grinder Set is a practical and stylish way for foodies to add seasoning to their dishes. Made from stainless steel and glass, these manual grinders are designed for durability and ease of use, with an adjustable coarseness setting that lets you control the grind size.
Their large capacity means fewer refills, and the clear glass design allows you to see when it’s time to top up.

Bread proving basket

If you know a baker who loves to make their own bread, this is a really nice gift. It allows them to make lovely, rustic-style loaves at home. Why not throw in a dough scraper too so they can really go pro?
We like: Affordable, rustic design
Watch out for: Only suitable for proving dough up to 500g
Made from food-safe rattan, this 22cm basket helps bread dough maintain its shape while proving, giving your homemade loaves a professional touch. The basket leaves a spiral imprint on the bread, adding a rustic, artisan quality to the finished loaf.
With a capacity for up to 500g of dough, it’s just the right size for creating a large loaf.
You can pick this up from Lakeland for £13.

Afternoon tea at The Harrods Tea Rooms

If you want to spend quality time with your loved one, take them for afternoon tea. If you want luxury, you can’t go wrong with the popular London hotels such as Claridges and The Savoy. If you're on a budget, head to Fortnum's Bar and Restaurant at The Royal Exchange for a pared-down version of its classic afternoon tea for £38 each.
We like: Beautifully presented patisserie and fresh savoury courses
Watch out for: Shoppers walking through the tea room
The Harrods Tea Rooms offers a luxurious afternoon tea experience in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge. The menu includes a fresh and light savoury course, beautifully presented patisserie, and freshly baked scones, paired with aromatic teas. We particularly loved the salmon vol-au-vent and caviar pastry, as well as the indulgent mango financier. Service is excellent, with staff offering knowledgeable tea recommendations.
However, the tea room’s location allows for foot traffic from shoppers, and the bathrooms could use more attention. Despite these drawbacks, it’s a delightful treat for any tea lover.
How much is afternoon tea? At The Harrods Tea Rooms £73 per person, also available at Virgin Experience Days (£125 for two), Buyagift (£125 for two).

LSA red wine glasses

When we run our wine taste tests, our experts have shared insights about the importance of a decent wine glass, and the difference it can make to the taste and your drinking experience. So it’s worth investing in a good set to get the best from your wine.
