What makes Which? deals different?
Retailers sometimes use misleading ‘was’ and ‘before’ prices to claim their deals are good. Media sites and artificial intelligence (AI) promote deals from retailers – but do they always check/verify them first? We don’t just take retailers’ word for it, we track actual market prices over six months. We share cheapest and average calculations and evaluate products against strict performance benchmarks. So you get good quality at honest prices.
*References to ‘average price' and 'cheapest price' are based on Which? market knowledge and information supplied by our partners. Prices are checked for the six calendar months prior to publication. Not all retailers are included in our checks.

The fridge freezers we've selected here are all decent models that scored reasonably well in our tests. We only recommend appliances with average or above-average scores for energy efficiency, because we don't consider models with excessively high running costs for their size and type to be genuine bargains.

Cheapest price in the past six months: £549*

Buy it for £450 from Costco (membership fees and conditions apply), or browse the deals below.
- Freestanding
- Frost-free freezer
- Black
We like: Fridge door alarm works well
We don’t like: Door is not reversible
This freestanding fridge freezer has a 65/35 split between the fridge and freezer, respectively. Wi-fi connectivity means you can control functions, including setting the internal temperature, with the hOn app. It also has a water dispenser for quick cold drinks without opening the fridge door. This uses a built-in tank that needs regular refilling, but doesn’t need to be plumbed into the mains water supply.

Fast-freeze and super-cool functions help to rapidly chill new additions. The Total Frost Free freezer means no ice build-up and less maintenance.

Hisense RB5K330GSFC
Average price in the past six months: £980
Cheapest price in the past six months: £889*

- Freestanding
- Frost-free freezer
- Black
We like: Not as deep as some for easier access
We don’t like: Inflexible shelf positioning
With a depth of 60cm, Hisense claims this fridge freezer is designed to fit almost any space without compromising your overall kitchen design. That could be handy if you have a small kitchen.
The fridge and freezer space is split 65/35. The fridge has four shelves, three door racks and two drawers, while the freezer below has three drawers. The cool Fresh Box in the lower part of the fridge provides storage for more fruits and vegetables.
It has what Hisense calls an Underside Cooling System, which vents at the front, unlike traditional rear-venting machines. This reduces the space needed at the back, which is why it isn’t as deep as many models.

We like: It's easy to clean
We don't like: The freezer drawers perform poorly

How to spot a good deal on a fridge freezer
Fran Roberts-Thornton Which? fridge freezer expert says:

- Whether it's on sale or not, a fridge freezer is a significant purchase that will hopefully last you for years. Be wary of great-sounding deals on fridge freezers that aren't energy efficient, because an electricity-hungry model could end up costing you more in the long run.
- Don’t be upsold on gimmicks or flashy features that you're not likely to use. Our research proves that manufacturers sometimes prioritise fancy features and settings over cooling or freezing food effectively. Read our reviews to make sure you're buying the best fridge freezer for your specific needs.
- Always check there’s enough space in your kitchen to fit your new fridge freezer. You’ll need at least 5cm all around it for effective ventilation.

- Quick-chill and fast-freeze functions help to lock in the nutrients, so your food stays fresher for longer.
