Which? responds the CTSI's warning about dangerous cosmetics sold online

Shefalee Loth, Which? Health Expert, said:
“This warning about dodgy and potentially dangerous cosmetics sold online is very concerning.
“It’s been almost a year since Which? found that a majority of cosmetics we bought from sellers on Amazon and other online marketplaces were fake - but it's not surprising to see more potentially dangerous products for sale given the lack of meaningful action from these platforms to tackle this issue.
“The government must urgently use the new powers it has under the Product Regulation and Metrology Act to update product safety legislation and impose a clear legal duty on online marketplaces for ensuring the safety of products sold on their platforms, with tough enforcement for those that fall short.”
