Which? responds as Chartered Trading Standards Institute says 90% of products entering UK fail safety tests

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

"These disturbing findings from Trading Standards are made more worrying by Which?'s recent investigation that found dangerous and illegal children's toys are slipping through the net and being sold on some of the biggest online marketplaces. Christmas shoppers need to be cautious about buying unbranded toys and other items that may pose a safety risk, such as electronics, from these platforms.

"The government must make putting strict new legal responsibilities on online marketplaces to prevent the sale of unsafe products a key feature on the face of its Product Regulation and Metrology Bill to ensure people are better protected."
