The 10 holiday companies you should book your 2024 holiday with

Don’t let a company that doesn't care ruin your holiday. Book with the very best, as determined by our most recent surveys of thousands of holidaymakers
Which holiday company to book your 2024 holiday with

Holiday hassles have rarely been far from the headlines in recent years. That’s why it’s so important that when you book your 2024 holiday, you choose a company that not only offers exceptional experiences, but will also hold your hand should anything go wrong.

The companies below are all Which? Recommended Providers (WRP). That means that thousands of holidaymakers have rated them as one of the very best, and that they’ve passed the additional assessments of Which? Experts.

We can’t guarantee that 2024 won’t be hit with the same travel delays and cancellations that derailed so many holidays last year. But we can help you choose a company that has shown time and time again that it cares, and that it will do everything within its power to deliver the holiday you paid for.

Best short-haul airline: Jet2

Falling standards and rising prices have become the norm for most airlines, which is why there are only two airlines we recommend - Jet2 and Norwegian. Jet2 tops our table for short-haul airlines with its five-star customer service and with plenty of staff on hand to help at the airport.

It might not always have the cheapest headline fares, but your ticket includes a decent-sized cabin bag (unlike easyJet and Ryanair), and passengers rate value for money as four out of five stars. (No airline gets 5 stars).

Best UK hotel chain: Hotel Indigo / Premier Inn Hub

Two quite different brands jointly took pole position in our large hotel chains survey. Indigo offers classy mid-range hotels packed with personality at a reasonable price. Most of its 18 UK hotels are in tastefully converted heritage properties, like the former power station in Glasgow and a Georgian terrace in Bath. See all of Hotel Indigo’s locations.

Premier Inn’s spin-off brand, Hub is only available in London and Edinburgh, but guests loved the spotless rooms and central locations. And it scored five stars for bed comfort. Premier Inn itself was also named a Which? Recommended Provider. Browse Premier Inn Hub hotels

Best city break provider 2024

Best UK holiday cottage provider: Landmark Trust

It only has around 200 properties in the UK, but people who stayed in them told us they had a far better time than those who stayed with bigger cottage companies.

In our survey, it got five stars for everything and rapturous reviews of its unique properties, such as lighthouses and a (refurbished) pigsty. Properties proudly don’t have TV or internet, so you can enjoy a digital detox and focus on your surroundings.

Best cruise line: Noble Caledonia

Noble Caledonia offers some of the smallest cruise ships out there - the biggest carries just 230 guests - which roam from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from Japan to Costa Rica. That means you won’t be fighting for space on board and you’ll call at lesser-visited ports.

It’s not cheap, but interesting itineraries and intimate ships make it worth every penny according to our survey of the Best and worst ocean cruise lines.

Best (short-haul) beach holiday provider: Jet2Holidays

Our survey of more than 8,000 holidaymakers found that the UK’s biggest tour operator provides holidaymakers with exactly what they want from a European beach holiday, and at a very reasonable price. It was one of a very select few companies to receive the full five-star rating for value for money.

Jet2Holidays also topped our table for its all inclusive holidays, villa holidays and city breaks.

Best (long-haul) beach holiday provider: Kuoni

Kuoni’s trips are custom-made with luxury in mind - think private pool retreats in the Maldives, or snorkelling in thermal springs in Dominica. It topped our table for family holidays and shared the top spot with Jet2 Holidays for beach holidays.

Kuoni received the full five stars for the quality of its accommodation and its customer service. Trips are not cheap, but holidaymakers told us it offers good value for money overall.
