Tesco recalls frozen peas due to possible contamination of an unknown type of berry

Tesco is recalling Grower's Harvest Garden Peas because of fears they are contaminated with an unknown type of berry.
The foreign body contamination means the peas could pose a risk to customers if consumed.

Grower's Harvest Garden Peas
The following packs are affected:
- Pack size – 900g
- Batch code – 23196, 23197, 23198, 23199, 23200
- Best before – January 2025
- Pack size – 900g
- Batch code – 23237, 23238, 23239, 23240
- Best before – February 2025
- Pack size – 900g
- Batch code – 23256, 23257, 23258, 23259, 23260, 23261
- Best before – March 2025
- Pack size – 900g
- Batch code – 23275, 23276, 23277
- Best before – April 2025
What should I do if I bought them?
Anyone who has bought an affected product is urged not to eat it. Instead, return it to the store where it was bought for a full refund.
In its recall notice, Tesco says that no receipt is required.

What are my rights if there's a food recall?
Under the Consumer Rights Act, if you've bought a product that's been included in a recall notice, you have the right to a refund. Even if the product has been in your cupboard or freezer for several months, you should still be offered a full refund.
Provided you can show proof of purchase, such as a receipt, bank statement, or online order confirmation, you are still eligible for a refund even if you've already consumed the product or thrown it away.
