Product recall: Lidl Deluxe Stuffed Dates may carry Salmonella

Lidl is recalling a batch of its Deluxe Stuffed Dates due to the presence of Salmonella, which can trigger severe gastrointestinal symptoms.
A product recall alert issued by the supermarket has urged customers not to eat the dates covered in the affected batch. Lidl has also confirmed that notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling the product.

Which Lidl products are being recalled?
This product recall covers a specific batch of stuffed dates. On its recall notice, Lidl notes that 'no other Deluxe products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall.'
Lidl is recalling Deluxe Stuffed Dates issued with the following batch code and best before date:
- Pack size: 240g
- Batch code: 21301/196
- Best before date: 21/01/2022

What does Lidl say?
Lidl says it is recalling a batch of its Deluxe Stuffed Dates due to 'the potential presence of Salmonella'.
The supermarket's recall notice explains: 'If you have bought the above-mentioned product, we advise you not to eat it.
'Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.'
What should I do if I'm affected?
If you have bought an affected pack of Lidl's Deluxe Stuffed Dates, do not eat them. Head in-store for a full refund.
