Convertible pushchairs are in high demand from parents and big brands such as iCandy, Silver Cross, Quinny and Thule have all launched new convertible travel-system pushchairs in 2019.
The reason these convertibles are rising in popularity is the versatility they offer. Not only can they be used with a car seat or carrycot, but these multi-functional pushchairs can easily switch between being a single and a double buggy.

iCandy Peach All-Terrain - from £1,080
The Peach All-Terrain is one of the most expensive convertible pushchairs we've tested, but it is feature-packed.
The seat unit can be parent or world-facing, or it can be swapped for a car seat or carrycot.
Cleverly the carrycot and seat unit share the same frame, which saves storage space.
This iCandy pushchair also has elevator adaptors, which in single mode raise the seat so you don't have to bend as far.
This also enables you to use this pushchair as an impromptu highchair if you're eating out.
When you're using the iCandy Peach All-Terrain pushchair as a double, the adaptors create more room between the seats so your little ones don't feel cramped.
As well as easily converting from a single to a double, this pushchair also has an interchangeable wheel axle which means you can swap from four wheels to three, to make it easier to tackle off-road terrain and country walks.

Silver Cross Coast - from £950
The Silver Cross Coast is a convertible travel-system compatible pushchair that offers a choice of 27 different configurations if you add a ride-on board.
The package is pricey, but it includes the pushchair and carrycot, along with a seat liner, mosquito net, rain cover, cup holder and Simplicity car-seat adaptors, so you won't need to budget for these separately.
Similar to the iCandy Peach All-Terrain, the reversible seat unit can be elevated to bring your baby closer to you, and it's handy to increase legroom when this pushchair is used as a double buggy.
The Coast carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping. You can buy a foldable carrycot stand for £95 that's both easy to transport and store, making it suitable for holidays or short visits to friends and family.

Thule Sleek - from £780
In the UK Thule is known for car roof racks and roof boxes, but in Sweden, where the brand originates, it's a popular pushchair brand for three-wheel jogging buggies.
The Thule Sleek is its first foray into four wheels. It's a convertible pushchair with a reversible seat and travel-system compatibility that can be used in single, double or twin mode.
It has large, no-puncture, foam filled rear tyres designed to help parents push the Sleek over rough ground.
There's also a decent-sized shopping basket with a zip-top cover to prevent items falling out.
Plus it has a free-standing fold so in theory it's easy to store when not in use.
Convertible pushchairs are typically pretty large and heavy, but Thule claims the Sleek is lightweight and compact, making it easy to manoeuvre.

Quinny Hubb - from £629
Quinny refers to the Hubb as the XXL shopping stroller.
It's a unique convertible pushchair which allows you to attach one or two seats in a variety of different positions.
It also has an eye-catching sizeable shopping basket that can hold 10kg, plus a secret compartment for storing important essentials such as your purse or smartphone.
The seat units are only suitable for babies more than six months old, but this pushchair is suitable for newborns provided you use the from-birth cocoon, the Hux carrycot or a Maxi-Cosi car seat which are sold separately.
It's available in a number of sleek muted shades as with the Peach All-Terrain, Coast and Sleek mentioned above, but it also comes in a number of striking colour options for the chassis, seat and hood if you fancy something a bit brighter.
