Shokz Openrun Pro

* Average price in the past six months: £133.16 | Cheapest price in the past six months: £109

Shokz Open Run Pro
  • Bone conduction headphones
  • Bluetooth
  • IP55 splashproof

We like: Two-year warranty

We don't like: Bone conduction headphones aren't for everyone

These bone-conduction headphones are great if you need to be able to hear your surroundings, like when you're on a cycle or a run. They work by transmitting sound waves through your cheekbones instead of your ear canals. This means you won't get the seal that blocks noise like you typically would with in-ear or over-ear headphones, which can affect noise-cancelling and sound quality.

The Openrun Pros have built-in buttons for music control, come with a carrying case and are rated IP55 splashproof – meaning you won't be able to swim with them, but it shouldn't be a problem if these get caught in the rain while out on a jog.

Read our full verdict in our review of the best bone conduction headphones.

You can get these bone conduction headphones for £92.65 when you order from John Lewis using code 'MYJLAUDIO15' after signing up for a My John Lewis membership. It's the cheapest we've seen them go for.

We like: Pairing to a device is a breeze

We don't like: Charging case lid has a slight wobble

Sony's answer to the Apple Airpods, these in-ear wireless headphones feature touch controls which allow you to play/pause, cycle tracks, answer calls and use a voice assistant without having to dig around in your pockets for your phone.

They're also rated IPX4 water-resistant, which means they should be fine in light rain.

Read our Sony WF-1000XM5 review to find out how these compare to similar models from Apple and Bose.

We like: No sound leakage

We don't like: Touch controls aren't the easiest to get used to

The latest in Sennheiser's flagship line of headphones, the Momentum 4 can connect to multiple devices simultaneously, so you can quickly switch between using them with a tablet or a smartphone.

Sennheiser claims that these headphones can get a whopping 60 hours of runtime, but you'll need to read our review to see if that claim held up in our testing.

Sony WH-1000XM5
  • Over ear design
  • Wireless
  • Noise cancelling

We like: Useful features

We don't like: Slight feeling of pressure in fit

The successor to the WH-1000XM4, these Sony headphones feature eight microphones which are designed to optimise their noise-cancelling effectiveness to your surroundings in real-time.

They work wirelessly via the built-in battery, but you can also connect them via a headphone socket using the supplied standard 3.5mm detachable cable. Just note that noise cancelling won’t work using a wired connection.

The headphones use Bluetooth to connect to devices, though a wire can be added. Sony claims this model has 30 hours of battery life but you'll need to read our reviews to find out if this was the case.
