Food recall: Cow & Gate baby food jars sold at Tesco pose safety risk

15 different varieties of 7+ month baby food jars have been recalled

Jars of Cow & Gate 7+ month baby food (200g) sold at Tesco are being voluntarily recalled following concerns that some of the jars may have been tampered with, resulting in a potential safety risk.

The voluntary recall issued via the Food Standards Agency (FSA) only affects jars sold in Tesco stores in the UK. No other Cow & Gate, Tesco or other branded baby foods are affected. The same Cow & Gate products bought in other stores are not part of the recall.

What to do if you've bought one of these Cow & Gate jars at Tesco?

If you own one of these jars do not feed its contents to your baby. Even though the recall is a precautionary measure, it's not worth the risk.

The FSA is advising people to return the product to the store it was bought from for a full refund. If you bought it online you can contact Tesco Customer Services.

If customers are concerned they can contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 917 6897 or Cow & Gate on 0800 977 8880.

This latest recall follows a recall of Heinz By Nature baby food jars sold in Tesco in December 2019 after a jar was found to have been tampered with and two sharp metal fragments were found inside.
