June is an excellent time to visit Porto – especially if your trip coincides with Festa de São João, which takes place on 23 June this year. But the buzz builds for weeks – visit any historic corner of Porto in June, and you’re likely to see technicolour streamers and bunting, barbecued sardines and singalongs throughout Portugal’s Santos Populares festival season.
