Your Which? membership through Apple In-App Purchase

The following terms apply to anyone purchasing a Which? online membership subscription through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

Terms of use

Effective date: 01 May 2026

Acknowledgement

These Terms of Use (“Agreement”) are concluded between you and Which? (“us, our, we”). We are responsible for the Which? Application (the “Application”) and its content. Your use of this Application is subject to the Apple Usage Rules and this Agreement.

Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement. Upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Scope of licence

We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Application on Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This Agreement also governs any content, materials, or services accessible from or purchased within the Application, unless such items are governed by other applicable terms.

Except as expressly permitted by the Apple Usage Rules and the General terms and conditions, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Application, nor may you reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application. You may not transfer, redistribute, or sublicense the Application, and you may not make the Application available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

Maintenance and support

We are responsible for providing maintenance and support for the Application. If you have an issue accessing your membership content after a purchase or if you have any questions or require support, please contact our Customer Services Team through Which? Help Centre.

Warranties and product claims

We do not guarantee that the Application will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for all purposes. If the Application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the Application (if any) to you.

We will address claims attributable to any failure to conform to any applicable warranty, legal or regulatory requirements; and any claim arising from product liability, consumer protection, or similar regulation. If we don't comply with the terms of this Agreement and to the extent permitted under applicable law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be limited to £100.

We will treat any non-compliance as a serious issue, and if we think you have breached any of these terms, we may take any action that we consider appropriate. This may include the temporary or permanent suspension of your access to our websites, the Application, or your Membership.

The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform can be accessed here: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. This can be used for resolving disputes about products and services purchased online.

Intellectual property

We will address any third-party claims that the Application or its content infringes intellectual property rights, subject to your compliance with this Agreement and our General terms and conditions. This responsibility shall not apply to any claim arising from

a. use of the Application in breach of these terms or any other terms applicable to this Application

b. use in combination with third-party products or services

c. modifications made by you or third parties

General compliance

You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the Application. Your use of the Application is also subject to Which?’s Privacy Policy  and the General terms and conditions incorporated into this Agreement. To the extent of any inconsistency, this Agreement will prevail in relation to subscriptions purchased via Apple In-App Purchase.

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting” and listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

If you did not purchase your subscription via Apple In-App Purchase within this Application, your subscription, billing and membership contract will be governed by your Which? Membership terms

If you purchased your subscription via Apple In-App Purchase within this Application, your subscription, billing and membership contract will be governed by the terms below.

Eligibility and account

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase subscriptions or use paid features. You may need a Which? account to access membership content. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and confidential, and for all activities that occur under your account.

Which? membership in the application (digital access)

The Application provides access to Which? digital content and features. Certain content/features are available only to active members (“Membership”). Access to your membership will be provided following a successful purchase through Apple’s In-App Purchase system and verification of your subscription.

You may be required to sign in to an existing Which? account or create a new account to access your membership. Where you create an account, you will be asked to provide a username and password. If you choose a specific username, we will try to honour your choice, but this may not always be possible, and we may offer an alternative.

Please keep your membership details confidential to help us maintain the security of our services. You should not allow any other person to access Which?’s online services using your login details. You acknowledge that this Membership is a digital service with Application and web-access to Which? digital content.

Pricing and subscription

You acknowledge that prices presented to you during the subscription sign-up and purchase process in the Application include any costs associated with delivering the subscription through third-party platforms. If you purchase a subscription through Apple’s In‑App Purchase system, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account payment method at confirmation of purchase, and Apple will provide you with a purchase confirmation. Apple is responsible for processing payments and managing subscription billing. All billing is subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. We do not store or process payment card details for subscriptions purchased via the Application.

Auto‑renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current subscription price shown in the purchase flow.

Introductory offers/free trials

If an introductory offer or free trial applies, the offer duration and the post-offer renewal price will be shown in the purchase flow. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the offer or trial, the subscription will automatically renew at the standard renewal price shown.

Managing/cancelling your subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the current paid period unless otherwise stated. Which? cannot cancel, amend or manage subscriptions purchased via the Application. All cancellations must be completed via your Apple ID account settings.

If you cancel your membership, you will no longer be able to access paid content. You will retain access to a free online account. If you do not wish to retain your account, you can request deletion at any time by contacting dataprivacy@which.co.uk. Further details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

You will continue to receive any free newsletters or marketing communications you have opted into. You can unsubscribe at any time using the links provided in those communications or by contacting preferences@which.co.uk.

Price changes

Apple may notify you of subscription price increases and, in some cases, may require your consent to continue the subscription at the new price. If you do not consent when required, the subscription may not renew at the end of the billing cycle. If the price changes and you do not wish to continue at the new price, you should cancel your subscription via your Apple ID account settings before the next renewal. We may also communicate service changes where required or appropriate.

Refunds and billing support

By purchasing this subscription, you request immediate access to digital content. You acknowledge that this means you may lose your right to cancel within 14 days to the extent allowed under applicable law.

You acknowledge that purchases made through Apple’s In‑App Purchase system are processed by Apple. Apple determines whether a refund is issued. Which? does not control or determine refund decisions for purchases made through Apple.

If you believe you are entitled to a refund for an Apple-billed purchase, you must request it from Apple using Apple’s refund request process (reportaproblem.apple.com). Refund eligibility may vary by country or region and according to Apple Terms.

Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated by you or Us. Your rights under this Agreement terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Application or Membership if you materially breach these terms.

You acknowledge that suspension or termination may not automatically cancel any Apple-billed subscription, and you may continue to be billed by Apple unless you cancel via your Apple ID account settings.
