Your free account membership

The following terms apply to your Which? Free Account, along with our general terms and terms applicable to any website, product, service, or digital application we make available to you as a Free Account benefit. 

  • Your Free Account will provide access to free benefits from time to time and a quicker and easier way to join Which? should you choose to upgrade to a paid subscription (please note to purchase any of our Which? subscriptions you must be aged 18 or over). 
  • We may add or remove Free Account benefits or end the Free Account at any time and may amend these terms from time to time. We suggest you check the website and your account regularly for updates. 
  • Any Free Account benefit we provide is for your personal use only. You must not use (or permit anyone else to use) your Free Account benefits for your (or anyone else’s) commercial gain or in a way that could damage the reputation of Which?.
  • No person other than you has any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these terms and conditions but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third party which exists or is available apart from that Act. 
  • We may engage the services of third parties to provide or assist us in providing Free Account benefits. You agree that we may, in accordance with our Privacy Notice, pass on to such third parties that we engage for this purpose, any data or information that you provide to us. 
  • In providing a Free Account benefit we may include links to other websites operated by third parties. We do not have any control over the nature or accuracy of content on these websites or the way in which they will use the data you provide to them and unless expressly stated we do not endorse these third parties.
  • Though we take reasonable commercial measures to ensure the safety of your data and devices, due to the nature of electronic communications and the possibility of third party interference, we cannot guarantee that our website and/or any email we send will be free of viruses and technical defects of any description.
  • Except where we have failed to use reasonable care and skill in providing a Free Account benefit we shall not be responsible for any damage or loss suffered in the circumstances set out in our general terms nor as a result of any acts beyond our reasonable control, or any obligation we have to disclose information to relevant authorities.
  • If we think you have breached any terms applicable to the use of your Free Account or any Free Account benefit, we may take any action that we consider appropriate. This may include the temporary or permanent suspension of your Free Account, or your access to your Free Account benefits or our websites.

Cancelling your free account

  • If you do not want to retain your Free Account, you can request deletion of it at any time, by emailing dataprivacy@which.co.uk - more detail on this is in our Privacy Notice.
  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

Marketing & newsletters

Please note: If you cancel your Free Account you will continue to receive any free newsletters you’ve subscribed to and marketing communications if you previously opted into these. 

If you decide you don’t want to receive marketing emails or a newsletter you can click on the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of the relevant email. If you wish to unsubscribe from all email communications please contact preferences@which.co.uk or via the other means of contact outlined in section 7 of the Privacy Notice.
